Press Coverage

Press Coverage
Elizabeth Warren

After a quick “Google” search of Elizabeth Warren the first thing that pops up is from USA Today with the article titled “Warren fires back at Obama on trade.” Then the second article that pops up is also regarding the trade war but it’s from the Huffington Post and is titled “Obama: Elizabeth Warren is Simply Wrong on TPP.” Then the third thing that pops up titled “You can’t read this” and is from the website Elizabeth Warren for Senate.

The USA Today article is clearly just summarizing what took place, what Obama said and what Warren said, basically just allowing readers to play catch up in this Democratic spat.

The Huffington Post article basically recaps of what he said (Obama) she said

(Warren), but still allows the readers to be informed of the situation and shines a positive light onto the Democratic Party.

The last article is that from elizabathwarren.com and in this article it is obviously from her (Warren) own people. The article is very descriptive and uses quotes from Warren’s speech that she gave in regards about the trade and she points out how wrong it is for Obama and his team to be denying the public people right to be aware of what conditions are involved in the trade. In this article it highly demonstrates the “Press Coverage” of what we have learned about this week from the chapters we read. Warren’s team is trying to control the situation, by releasing their own statements, their own tweets, reaching out to the media on their view points. But, like we learned higher ranking government officials pull the most rank when it comes to “press coverage” and controlling the media and what is said, therefore Obama is getting more press coverage on this issue with Warren than Warren is.

This is the video of Warren explain her thoughts, points of views, and what’s really going on with the Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement. (It’s about 8 minutes long, just so you know.)

Friend or foe?

The way the Huffington Post article and USA Today article talk about the spat between Obama and Warren isn’t necessarily a negative trait that could harm Warren’s campaign for president if she ever does decide to run. If anything, articles like these help set Warren apart from Obama and really making her the “Different Democratic” that the Democratic Party badly needs for the 2016 presidential election. However, for Elizabeth Warren specifically the only media that could help her is the press coverage from her own team and supports if she ever changes her mind and does decide to run for president. However, with the different view point of President Obama could be a turning point for Warren and she could end up deciding to throw her name in the hat for the run of the Democratic nominee against Hillary Clinton, she’s a pistol and as a support you really have no idea what Warren has up her sleeve.

  1. I think it says a lot about Warren's character that she was not afraid to call Obama out on something that was not fair. This is the first time I am hearing of this issue though, so do you know if anyone else has commented on the issue? Such as Hillary Clinton or any other potential candidate for 2016.

  3. Morgan, I don't believe that any other "potential candidate" has commented on the issue with Obama but then again I do believe it does say something about Warren's character in the fact that she isn't afraid to be true to herself and her beliefs. TJ, I believe the best coverage is media coverage and her own channel on youtube.
